This weight loss program includes three stages, the duration of which may vary depending on how you feel and how you feel. But Agatston is of the opinion that the first and second stages should last from a month to two. Moreover, he recommends from time to time to make yourself small indulgences, moving from stage to stage and to eat from 3 to 6 times a day.

Try to eat enough of both meat and vegetables so that you do not feel hungry.
The second stage differs from the first by the addition of exercise, which speeds up the metabolic process and contributes to weight loss. Also, in addition to the products from the first stage, unsweetened fruits and berries, skim milk, yogurt, kefir, brown rice, barley, oatmeal, buckwheat, dark chocolate, cocoa and small quantities of red wine are allowed. The second phase of the diet should continue until you reach the weight you want, or until, despite your best efforts, it stops dropping.
Once you reach your ideal weight, you move on to the third stage, which should continue throughout your life. Gradually, you reduce the number of meals to three and now you almost automatically control the composition of your menu, which still should not contain white bread, flour products made from white flour, potatoes, white rice, sugar and sweets. The third stage of the diet ensures the maintenance of the achieved result and the preservation of good physical shape.
The Robert Atkins Diet
The main goal of this diet is to stabilize and maintain a constant blood sugar level, weaning from various food addictions and changing metabolism, as a result of which the body begins to use fats as the main source of energy. It should be said right away that the attitude of nutritionists to the proposed nutritional system is ambiguous, because Dr. Atkins insists on eating a large amount of fat, including butter, lard, fatty pork and cheese, although all these products lead to a significant increase in cholesterol levels, and therefore to clogging of blood vessels and atherosclerosis. Inadequate carbohydrates interfere with the production of serotonin, which means that over time, people on this diet begin to dramatically change their mood, and they become irritable. In addition, Dr. Atkins’s diet is not suitable for people with kidney disease and high levels of creatinine in the blood; it is contraindicated in diabetes mellitus, during pregnancy and lactation.
Dr. Atkins’ weight loss program consists of 2 phases: reducing and supporting. During the reducing phase, metabolism changes and a habit to a new style of eating is developed, and during the supporting phase, the desired weight is gradually achieved and maintained.
Robert Atkins suggests following the basic rules: do not consume more than 20 grams of carbohydrates per day, start eating only when you really feel hungry, and finish when you feel full, eliminate fruits, breads, grains, vegetables with a high content of starch, and sweets.
It is allowed to consume unlimited quantities of meat and meat products, fish, poultry, seafood, eggs, cheeses, non-starchy vegetables and herbs, mushrooms, natural oils, water, herbal teas without sugar, drinks with sugar substitutes. Alcoholic beverages should be forgotten until the second phase of the diet.
Atkins provided a fairly large list of permitted foods, which means that you can well fantasize and cook different dishes to your liking, however, it should be noted that during this diet it is necessary to take vitamins with minerals.
