Why You Aren’t Losing Weight and How to Feed Your Metabolic Bacteria

Excess weight is not always the result of a lack of willpower or genetic predisposition. More and more scientific studies prove that if you have tried all the ways to lose weight, you know about all training and comprehensive approaches, but there is no result – the reason is the imbalance of the intestinal flora, you need to change the ratio of bacteria in the intestine.

Metabolism is a complex set of metabolic reactions necessary to maintain the life of the body and lose weight, including. This system depends on a huge number of factors, so failures in its work are not easy to find. An important role in the work of metabolism is played by the composition of the microbiota – microorganisms, bacteria in our intestines, therefore, their condition must be monitored especially carefully.

Together with Anna Borisova, an expert gastroenterologist at the Austrian health center Verba Mayr, we will figure out how to care for your bacteria so that they help improve metabolism and stay healthy.

The composition of the microbiota plays an important role in metabolic activity. The composition of the intestinal flora depends on a huge variety of factors: on nutrition, on antibacterial agents taken (especially in childhood), on hormonal activity, on the presence or absence of foci of chronic inflammation, on the work of various parts of the gastrointestinal tract, and so on.

It is not necessary to reduce the activity of metabolic work only to the work of a few bacteria in the intestine.

Some studies on how bacteria work in the gut has indeed shown that several species play a specific role in metabolic rate. So, in the United States, during an experiment on mice, it turned out that some species of Clostridia ensure the maintenance of normal weight, since when the level of these bacteria decreased, weight began to increase. However, at the moment, this discovery is not used in practical medicine, as it still requires further development.

There are bacteria belonging to the type Firmicuts, which in the intestine actively break down simple carbohydrates, which provokes an increase in the absorption of sugars by the body. These include, for example, Staphylococcus aureus

One of the missing bacteria in the intestines of overweight people is Helicobacter pyloriwhich regulates the level ghrelin – a hormone that stimulates appetite… These bacteria have existed in symbiosis with us for thousands of years, but in the body of a modern person there are much less of them due to excessive hygiene and the use of antibiotics.

To normalize the process of physiological regeneration of the intestinal mucosa and the formation of the necessary butyrate, two bacteria are important: Akkermansia muciniphila and Brausnice faecalis… Growth Akkermansia muciniphila it is noted with an increase in salivation, therefore it is very important to chew food thoroughly (up to 30-40 chewing movements for each piece of food!), and it is also better not to drink food. Also, the growth of this bacterium is facilitated by the use of acacia powder, moderate consumption of sour fruits, carrots, celery, cucumber, apple. It is also important to drink enough water between meals.

With an increase in the number Akkermansia muciniphila there is also an increase in Brausnice faecalis… This increase can be accelerated by eating fermented vegetables and foods (sauerkraut juice, wild garlic, kombucha)as well as consuming in moderation butter.

It is certainly important to take into account possible food intolerances, anamnesis and previously identified conditions and diseases in humans. Remember that our body is a large system, therefore it is necessary to approach its state from all sides.
